Hi sweetie! It may come as a surprise to you but I am only 17!
Growing up was an amazing experience. My grandmother taught me a lot. I remember going out into her garden when I was really young and feeling energy all around me. She would bring me out to celebrate the Sabbots and we’d dance around the fire and sing chants. That woman taught me everything. She was a herbologist. I wish I could upload a picture of her apothecary because it was just amazing. Her house was always warm. She had a real cauldron over a fire place that she used to cook with. I was given the families BOS on my 13th birthday. It’s amazing to be able to go to the very first pages and to see the handwriting of my early family ancestors from Ireland. Sometimes it was difficult though because growing up in a house of witchcraft I didn’t really know any other ways. When I came to the big city, people looked at me differently because of my beliefs so for a long time I hid them from the world. If you ever have any questions for me just go ahead and ask. I will be sure to answer them!
Okay lets see. I am not a Wiccan, but I can answer a lot of your questions. A Book of Shadows or BOS is a Journal/cookbook/spell keeper.
You put a lot of things in there. The magickal properties of herbs, stones, plants, and moon phases.
You can add rituals that you’ve done, how well they worked, et cetera.
You can put in dreams that you’ve had. Spells. Rune and Tarot readings. Recipes to celebrate the Sabbats.
Just make it your own.
It’s probably a good idea to put a protection spell on it as well.
You don’t want it to get in the wrong hands.
And don’t show it to anyone.
You can make a BOS out of anything from a spiral bound notebook or you can order a leather one online. It all depends on you.
Have a nice night dear :)
